i would say Tama drums and Vater drumsticks. i heard that Tama drums can endure all sorts of abuse and are really durable. and for the drums/guitar question, just listen to your gut and choose whichever one you want to play. i’ve always wanted to play the drums, but i play guitar and love it!

Are you more inclined to rhythms (tapping on ur desk all the time) or melodies (humming) ?! Both are great hobbies…drums are pretty cumbersome and loud though, you can’t exactly ‘turn them down’, whereas u can play guitar w/ headphones or on low voume if you live with parents. Really depends on what u like better. If you want to get into songwriting guitar is the way to go.

It depends on your coordination and practice space. You can’t exactly put drums just anywhere. A guitar can be hooked up to headphones (through your pedal or amp). Drums will drive everyone else crazy.

I’ve been playing guitar for nine years now and I love it. It’s just a matter of taste and space.

Drum brands? Tama is one of the best brands. I wouldn’t throw that much money into your first set, though. Go to a music store and see what they have that you can afford.

Guitar brands? I love ESP. Hands down.

    Good luck, dude.

if you are just beginning get Pacific Drums by DW great quality kits for a low price, it’s very easy to learn, I’m 13 also and I’ve been playing for 14 months and I can already play some Neil Peart.
