How can i get my Joey Jordison snare drum to sound like his?

in addition to tuning, you should find out what type of snare head he uses. this can make a huge difference in the sound. as for tuning, well, you can only learn that by doing. if you wanna be exact about it, find out what type of head he uses and then just practice all sorts of different ways to tune. Heads are important, and make sure they’re tuned similarly.
If you’re listening to a CD or if you’re seeing him live, you won’t be able to reproduce the sound exactly because of all the EQing that his snare is put under when it’s miked. Having good heads and tuning properly will sound good in the end though. John V
